Day 1: 21 Day Cleanse

I survived the first day!  Honestly the hardest part of the day was waking up and not smelling the smell of fresh coffee!  Other than that, it was a piece of cake!!  I did wake up feeling exhausted though but honestly, I think that is in part from my sugar high I had yesterday and the fact that my monthly visitor is about to appear.  So, after I was up for a couple hours I took a nap...my body needed it and I'm so glad I did because I felt like a million bucks afterwards.

Sugar high yesterday and NOT allowed on cleanse.  I kinda went all out on my last day.  Oopps.  But man was it delicious!


I mentioned in my first post I was going to be adding something to the 21 day cleanse.  I am the student rep for a nutraceutical company, Xymogen, and I decided to add their "6 day detox" regimen into this 21 day detox.   All that is different is using a homeopathic remedy, "Drainage" in addition to a colon supplement.  I am also using their protein powder, "OptiCleanse GHI" as my daily protein drinks.  So far, so good.



Here is what I ate today and it was about 1300 calories:  40% carbs, 27% fat and 37% protein.  Not too shabby!!  And I was tempted today at a clinic I volunteered at with some delicious gooey looking chocolate chip muffins.  If I wasn't on this cleanse I would have had one, but nope, I politely declined (go me!)

Instead of coffee, I had this hot tea instead and it was delcious!


Breakfast:  smoothie:  1 scoop OptiCleanse GHI vanilla protein powder, 1 cup spinach, 1 cup organic berries, 1 tbsp flax seed, 1 tbsp chia seeds and 1 scoop of Xymogen's Organix Phytofood (a mixture of berries, greens and antioxidants).


Lunch:  1 brown rice cake w/ 1 tbsp almond butter (no salt) and my ground chicken hash (ground chicken, zucchini, mushrooms and sweet potato)

Dinner:  4.5 oz Sprout's chicken tenders, 1/2 cup Jasmine rice, 1 cup steamed green beans

Snack:  mixed raw veggies (radish, carrots, cucumber) and 1 seaweed snack pack

Late night snack:  1 grilled turkey burger (plain)--I had to get some more protein in

Besides this morning I felt great.  It is now 9:30pm and I feel tired and ready for a good night's sleep  I just finished prepping my food for tomorrow because it's my 14 hour day.   I forgot to take my weight as soon as I woke up this morning but I'll do it tomorrow morning so I can see if I lose any pounds on this cleanse.

Oh, I also made sure to drink A LOT of water.  I had probably 1 gallon.

1 down, 20 to go!  I got this!
