Day 8 (and 1st day of no meat): 21 Day Cleanse

I survived a day of no meat products!  It really wasn't that bad, but I did feel myself being a little bit hungry.  I didn't want to just eat because I am aiming for a certain amount of calories per day for fitness goals.  I do know that I have no clue how I would hit my daily protein goals without eating meat!!  I did eat enough protein that my body requires (0.8grams per kilogram of body weight).  For me that equals 52 grams of protein and today I got 91.  I could supplement more with protein powder, but I didn't want to do that.  I don't find that to be healthy and I couldn't eat 3 servings of protein powder every day for the rest of my life!  The protein I am using for this cleanse has other stuff in it besides just protein and the recommended dose is 2 scoops per day.  Originally I was going to do 2 scoops, 3 times a day, but there is no way I am going to do that as it's too much protein powder.  So, I'm going to try to just get it from plant based food (mainly beans) but man that is tough to do without my carbs going through the roof (hence the higher carb reading)!  So my macros are going to be off this week, but it's not like I will be eating like this forever!  At least I'm eating healthy...

Here is what I ate:

Breakfast:  Smoothie (2 scoops OptiCleanseGHI vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup organic mixed berries, 1 cup organic baby spinach and 1 scoop Xymogen OrganixPhytofood (more veggies/antioxidants))

Pre-workout snack:  1 brown rice cake topped with 1 tbsp almond butter and a drizzle of honey (my new favorite snack)

Lunch:  1 serving of the black bean and sweet potato as lettuce wraps with organic romain lettuce leaves.  1 protein shake with 2 scoops OptiCleanse GHI vanilla protein powder.  I will not be doing the nightly protein powder as I decided after I drank this one that 2-3 scoops per day is enough! This picture looks measly, but it was the end of my bowl and I decided to snap a picture.  The other wraps were bigger--promise.

Afternoon snack:  Organic strawberries

Dinner:  Lentil, sweet potato and spinach soup (this soup is really good even though it doesn't look all that great.  It was quite filling too!)

Dessert:  1/4 cup organic nuts and berries from Costco (delicious treat)

Total Calories:  1313 (Carbs 51%, Protein 25%, Fat 23%).   I have come to the conclusion after one day that I have no clue how to get a 40/40/20 split without drinking the crap out of protein powder.   I could eat beans all day, but they aren't carb-less!  I also had a great shoulder/chest workout today too and felt good energy-wise.  2 days of rest from the gym coming up!

Tomorrow I have a ridiculously long day.  7am-9pm.  I am curious to see how my energy holds up!
